Ores and Ore Blocks
Ores can be found underground and sometimes above ground in Basins (Only Coal Ore and Iron Ore). Ores that come "automatically smelted" are Diamond Ore (light blue), Lapis Lazuli Ore (dark blue), Redstone Ore (red in grey), Coal Ore (black in grey), Quartz Ore (not seen here, but is white in red and found in the Nether [another dimension]), and Emerald Ore (green in grey). Ores that need to be smelted include Iron Ore (tan in grey) and Gold Ore (yellow in grey). The corresponding ore blocks are right below the ore, and are crafted with 9 of the smelted ores in a crafting bench.

Spawners and Dungeons
Dungeons can be found underground and spawners are found in them. Spawners spawn the mob in the spawner 200 to 799 ticks (10 seconds or so) before spawning again (one tick = 1/20th of a second*). The mob inside a dungeon spawner (without editing) can be one of the following: Zombie, 50% chance, Spider, 25% chance, or Skeleton, 25% chance. You can also find them in places like Abandoned Mine shafts, and Strongholds. Abandoned Mine Shafts have Cave Spider spawners and Strongholds have Silverfish spawners. You will usually find 1-2 Chests in a dungeon, rarely 1 large Chest filled with the following:
Saddle; 50.1%
Iron Ingot; 50.1%
Bread; 50.1%
Wheat; 50.1%
Gunpowder; 50.1%
String; 50.1%
Bucket; 50.1%
Enchanted Book*; 6.5%
Redstone; 50.1%
"13" Music Disc; 50.1%
"Cat" Music Disc; 50.1%
Normal Golden Apple; 6.5%
Enchanted Golden Apple; ???, probably 6.5%
Name Tag; 50.1%
Iron Horse Armor/Armour; 28.9%
Gold Horse Armor/Armour; 12.6%
Diamond Horse Armor/Armour; 6.5%
Cocoa Beans; ???
*If two Enchanted Books are in the same Chest, they will have the same Enchantments.
*Otherwise known as "modTick"
The Dungeon has an Abandoned Mine shaft (straight ahead) right on the outside. This happens quite often.
